As her family and that of her victim listened quietly, Lisa Montgomery heard a judge sentence her Friday to die for killing a Missouri woman and kidnapping her baby.
Montgomery, of Melvern, Kan., said nothing to the court before U.S. District Judge Gary Fenner pronounced the death sentence.
A federal jury convicted Montgomery in October of killing Bobbie Jo Stinnett in Skidmore, Mo., and cutting her unborn baby from her womb. The jury unanimously agreed that Montgomery should die.
