Cable: Saudi oilfields are 'sick'

An April 20, 2009 cable from the U.S. consulate in Dhahran said Saudi Arabia's oil company, Aramco, would have trouble maintaining oil production quotas, especially from the Ghawar oil field, the world's largest. The company's management was troubled by the new U.S. administration's "addiction to foreign oil" rhetoric, the cable said.
