The daily Iraqi violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It’s posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy’s Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

Five people were wounded (three students and two soldiers) by a magnetic bomb stuck to a civilian car that blew up near a checkpoint manned by Iraq army in Adhamiyah neighborhood, north Baghdad, at around 7:30 a.m. Wednsday.

Seven civilians were wounded by a magnetic bomb that was stuck to a civilian car in al Iskan neighborhood, west Baghdad, at around 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Four people were wounded (two civilians and two policemen) by a roadside bomb that targeted a police patrol near al Nadaa mosque in Qahira neighborhood at around 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Four people were wounded by a car bomb near a petrol station in the town of Mahmoudiyah, 15 km south of Baghdad at around 11 a.m. Wednesday.

A roadside bomb blew up in Zafaraniyah neighborhood, southeast Baghdad. The bomb targeted a police patrol at around 3 p.m. no casualties were reported.

Nineveh

One civilian killed and three others arrested by U.S. military forces during a joint raid upon a house in Rabea district to the west of Mosul, early Wednesday said Iraqi police. The U.S. military said in a press release, "Iraqi Security Forces arrested three suspected foreign fighter cell members today, and a fourth suspect was shot and killed during the operation".

A patrol of police found two dead bodies in Suq al Maash neighborhood in Mosul.
