The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.
Baghdad
Insurgents driving a speeding car opened fire using pistols fitted with silencers upon a checkpoint manned by Iraqi army in Waziriyah neighboorhood, north Baghdad, wounding two servicemen and one civilian.
Nineveh
Using pistols fitted with silencers, insurgents opened fire on a checkpoint manned by police in the Rasheediyah neighbourhood of north Mosul. The attack killed one policeman and wounded another. The dead officer was the son of the wounded officer.
Diyala
A roadside bomb targeted the house of a returning displaced family in al Mualimeen neighbourhood, central Baquba at 8.30 a.m. Tuesday killing the father of the family.
