Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq - Tuesday 16 June 2009

This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It’s posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy’s Washington Bureau.
Baghdad
Two civilians were injured by a roadside bomb that targeted a US convoy in Husseinyah neighborhood in northeast Baghdad. U S military confirmed the incident saying that one soldier was wounded.
Nineveh
Two civilians were injured by a roadside bomb that targeted a US patrol in prophet Younis area in downtown Mosul city on Monday evening. No reports about the American casualties.
Four people including a policeman were injured by a roadside bomb in Bab alTob area in downtown Mosul city on Tuesday afternoon.
Two people on a bus were injured by gunfire from a U.S military convoy in eastern Mosul at 11 a.m. Tuesday morning. A soldier fired a warning shot at a speeding car that ricocheted off the ground and struck the bus window, shattering the glass and injuring the driver and a female passenger, according to a U.S. military spokesman.
The U.S. Military discovered a roadside bomb inside a sac left on the pavement near the Municipality building in central Mosul Tuesday morning, which they detonated under control without casualties or damages.
Kirkuk
Someone attacked and killed a Kurdish man with a knight in downtown Kirkuk city on Tuesday morning.
Gunmen kidnapped two civilians in Rashad village southwest of Kirkuk on Monday evening.
