Five Kurds, members of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK, which is headed by President Talabani) were kidnapped from a café located in front of the party headquarters in Jalowlaa district Thursday morning and their bodies were found on the main route between Jalowlaa and Khanaqeen Thursday afternoon.

A roadside bomb targeted an American military convoy in al Mansouriyah area, to the west of the city of Nasiriyah, Thursday morning and the explosion caused no casualties or material damages, said Iraqi police. A truck bomb parked under Mohammed al Qassim Traffic Bridge in front of the Ministry of Finance in Waziriyah, northern Baghdad went off at 10 30 a.m. Wednesday killing 35 civilians, injuring 228 others. The explosion also brought down 50 meters of one side of the traffic bridge, caused material damage to the ministry building and burned a large number of cars.

A truck bomb parked in a parking lot near the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, near one of the entrances into the Green Zone in central Baghdad went off at 10.55 a.m. killing 60, injuring 315 others.
