Is McCain considering a one-term presidency?

John McCain has been known to say he is “older than dirt” and has “more scars than Frankenstein.”
So it came as little surprise when the 71-year-old was running in the New Hampshire primary that he appeared to flirt with a one-term presidency. It was a response to a question about whether he had the “health and endurance to do eight years” in the White House. The senator said running for eight years might not be much of a vote-getter.
Since then, McCain has said he’s not ruling out the possibility of two terms, but his answers got people thinking about a one-term president.
“Terrific,” said John Danforth, a former Republican senator from Missouri. “I think it’s a really good idea.”
