Barack Obama supporters plan to gather in 200 ''house parties'' across Florida Tuesday in the campaign's first organized, widespread grass-roots activity in the state since the September boycott by the major Democratic presidential candidates.

One of Obama's leading supporters, Massachusetts Sen. Ted Kennedy, is slated to rally Florida supporters over the telephone as the returns come in from four other states that could end — or revive — rival Hillary Clinton's campaign.

Each gathering in Florida aims to collect $1,000 for Obama, who has set fundraising records by collecting from more than one million donors nationwide.
