The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

A roadside bomb exploded in Aden Square, Hurriyah neighbourhood, northwestern Baghdad at 10 p.m. Tuesday injuring three civilians.

A Katyusha missile hit al Arasat residential district of Karrada neighborhood in central Baghdad at 11:25 p.m on Tuesday injuring one woman and causing material damage to the house.

- Gunmen opened fire at a white sedan car carrying two employees of the Minister of Interior on Sadoun Street in downtown Baghdad around 7 p.m. The two employees who are officers in the Minister of Interior office were seriously injured.

- A magnetic bomb targeted a police officer’s car in Shaab neighborhood in eastern Baghdad around 7:15 p.m. The officer was injured and taken to hospital for treatment.

Nineveh

- Gunmen opened fire at an employee of the displaced and emigration department in Arabi neighborhood in northern Mosul after leaving his office around 2 p.m. He was injured in his head and chest.

- Gunmen killed a civilian in Matahin neighborhood in western Mosul around 5 p.m.

- A roadside bomb targeted an American patrol in Zahraa neighborhood in eastern Mosul around 6 p.m.

A suicide car bomber targeted a police patrol in al Nebi Younis neighbourhood at 1.30 p.m. Wednesday killing one policeman, injuring three policemen and one civilian.

Diyala

A roadside bomb targeted a civilian car on the main thoroughfare in al Saadiyah neighbourhood (north of Baquba) in the morning killing a husband and wife who were in the car.

One civilian was killed when a sticky bomb stuck to his car blew up at al Mafraq area in central Baquba at 1.15 p.m.

Basra

A roadside bomb targeted a U.S. military convoy near al Gzaiza Bridge, northern Basra at around 5 p.m. Tuesday. No comment was available from the U.S. military at time of publication.
