Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq-Tuesday 10 February 2009

The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.
Baghdad
- A magnetic bomb detonated under a sedan car which belongs to a guard of the vice President Adel Abdul Mahdi at Abu Nawas street in downtown Baghdad around 10 a.m. The driver of the car was injured besides a civilian who was at the scene, police said.
- Two mortars hit Mashtal neighborhood in eastern Baghdad around 9:15 p.m. One of the mortars hit a house in al-Mutabagh street near Khalid bin al-Waleed school. One person was killed and four others were wounded.
Mosul
- Gunmen opened fire on a police check point in Karama neighborhood in Mosul. Two policemen were killed including a lieutenant.
- A car bomb targeted a police patrol in Dorat Baghdad neighborhood in Mosul. Three policemen were wounded.
