Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq-Friday 19 September 2008

The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

- Around 11:45 a.m. a roadside bomb targeted a police patrol in Al Yarmouk neighborhood injuring two policemen and four civilians.

Nineveh

- Gunmen raided a house in Al Yabsa neighborhood in Mosul city killing the parents and injuring four members of the family including one child.

- A roadside bomb targeted a police vehicle in Mosul city injuring one policeman and one civilian.

Salahuddin

- At least eight civilians including women from one family were killed in a U.S. air strike in Al Dour town, 15 miles south of Tikrit, early Friday morning Iraqi police and witnesses said. A U.S. military statement said the attack targeted a "terrorist". The statement said one armed man was killed and an airstrike killed three other suspects and three women. The statement also said one child was rescued from the rubble.
