Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq-Monday 15 September 2008

The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.
Baghdad
- Two parked car bombs exploded in Karrada neighborhood around noon. The first targeted an Iraqi army convoy; the second detonated soon after, apparently to kill incoming army reinforcements. The two explosions killed 12 civilians. Twenty-two Iraqi army soldiers and 15 civilians were wounded.
- Police found three dead bodies, one in Sadr, one in Adel, one in Shuala.
Diyala
- A female suicide bomber detonated her vest in Baladrouz district, about 30 miles south east of Baquba, around 6:30 p.m. The attack occurred at a feast to celebrate the release of police sergeant Adnan Shukri, released yesterday from a U.S. detention facility. The attack killed 22 people and injured 33, most of them police officers.
