The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

A roadside bomb targeted a police patrol near Khullani Square, central Baghdad at 3 p.m. Tuesday injuring three people including one policeman.

An IED was detonated under control in Karrada, central Baghdad at 3.20 p.m.

A car bomb was detonated under control near Wathiq Square, Karrada at 3.30 p.m.

Two Katyusha rockets were detonated under control by U.S. forces in Zafaraniyah, southeastern Baghdad, Tuesday.

Police found one dead body throughout Baghdad in Khilani area.

Diyala

A suicide bomber targeted the motorcade of the Governor of Diyala province as it was leaving the Governorate compound. The Governor, who was accompanied by General Abdulkarim Khalaf, Commander of Operations in the Iraqi Ministry of Defence was not harmed but three civians were killed and seven people including one policeman, one army serviceman and one female were injured.
