The daily Iraqi violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It’s posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy’s Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

5 people (3 policemen and 2 civilians) were wounded in an IED explosion targeting police patrol in Shaab stadium intersection in Zayuna neighborhood east Baghdad around 10,30 am.

Police found three anonymous bodies in Baghdad today in the following neighborhoods (1 body in Sadr city, 1 body in Saidiyah and 1 body in Bayaa neighborhood.

Diyala

4 people (3 Sahwa members including one of Sahwa leaders called Abo Sajjad and a woman) were killed and 23 others (5 women, a police officer and 17 civilians) were wounded when a woman wearing an explosive vest detonated herself targeting a check point of Sahwa in New Baquba downtown Baquba city north of Baghdad around 12,30 pm.

Basra

Gunmen opened fire randomly targeting civilians in Al Abla area north Basra city early morning today. Two civilians were injured in the incident.
