Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq - Wednesday 31 October 2007

The daily Iraqi violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It’s posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy’s Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

A civilian was killed and 3 others wounded in a parked car bomb nearby Bunnya mosque near Al AlAlawi bus station downtown Baghdad around 12,00 pm.

Police found 6 anonymous bodies in Baghdad. 4 bodies were found in Karkh, the western side of Baghdad in the following neighborhoods (1 body in Amil, 1 body in Doura, 1 body in Shoala and 1 body In Elam). 2 bodies were found in Sadr city in the eastern side of Baghdad.

Kirkuk

A policeman was killed and two others injured when gunmen attacked one of the check points of Al Multaqa police station in Yaiji town northwest of Kirkuk city yesterday night.

Gunmen opened fire attacking the house of judge Dhahir Al Bayati, the head of the appeal court of Kirkuk city in Al Baath neighborhood downtown Kirkuk city around 8,45 am. One of the guards of Al Bayati was killed.

Gunmen driving a fast car (grey Opel Sedan) opened fire targeting an employee with his two kids while he was talking them to their school in Al Baath neighborhood downtown Kirkuk city early morning today. The employee and his two kids were injured. Police took the employee and his kids to the hospital.

Babil

A policeman was injured seriously when gunmen opened fire attacking a police patrol in Eskandariyah city north of Babil city around 9,30 am.
