The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClachy's Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

- A civilian was killed and 3 wounded when an IED exploded in Al Midan square downtown Baghdad around 8 am. - Police found 12 anonymous bodies in Baghdad today. 9 bodies were found in Karkh, the western side of Baghdad in the following neighborhoods (2 bodies in Amil, 2 bodies in Bayaa, 2 bodies in Shoala, 1 body in Saidiyah, 1 body in Kadhemiyah and 1 body in Mahmoudiyah.) 3 bodies were found in Rusafa, the eastern side of Baghdad in the following neighborhood (2 bodies in Jisr Diyala and 1 body in Zafaraniyah.)

Karbala

- Around 10 p.m. Some of the pilgrims heading to Karbala refused to be searched by an Iraqi army check point in Karbala, after arguments the two sides clashed and the Iraqi army shot at the pilgrims injuring 13 pilgrims one of them in critical condition, said Iraqi army Major Raed Mashari.
