The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClachy's Washington Bureau

Baghdad

A civilian was killed and 6 others wounded when 4 mortar shells hit Doura neighborhood south Baghdad around 6,30 pm.

Police found 18 anonymous bodies in Baghdad today, 15 bodies were found in Karkh, the western side of Baghdad in the following neighborhoods (6 bodies in Amil, 2 bodies in Bayaa, 2 bodies in Doura, 2 bodies in Shoala, 2 bodies in Saidiyah and 1 body in Kadhemiyah.) 3bodies were found in Rusafa, the eastern side of Baghdad in the following neighborhoods (1 body in Qahira, 1 body in Zayuna and 1 body in New Baghdad.)

Kirkuk

4 people were killed and 9 others wounded in an IED explosion that targeted a police patrol in Al Jumhuriyah street downtown Kirkuk city yesterday evening.

7 people were wounded including policemen when an IED exploded in Ahmed Agha market downtown Kirkuk city north of Baghdad yesterday evening.

Anbar

A sniper shot two policemen recruits in Al Bu Awda area north of Fallujah yesterday. A source in the hospital said that the first recruit was shot in his abdomen area and the second his hand thumb

Arbil

Gunmen opened fire wounding a civilian in Ankawa town in Irbil province north Iraq today.
