Top 10 List: Senators most likely to lose

August 5, 2014

The senators most likely to lose their seats in November _ in order of endangered status _ are Democratic Sens. John Walsh of Montana, Mark Pryor of Arkansas, Mary Landrieu of Louisiana and Kay Hagan of North Carolina, according to a top 10 list from Roll Call on Tuesday.

The only Republican on the list is Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the Senate minority leader (No. 7).

Roll Call points out that the GOP needs to gain six seats to take control of the Senate. The party’s best chances are in South Dakota and West Virginia, where Democrats are retiring. There are open seats in Iowa and Michigan. If Republicans take all four, they still need to defeat at least two incumbents.
