The Senate is expected to quickly pass a bill that will increase the nation's debt limit, extending the nation's borrowing limit and narrowly avoiding a default on its loans. The House passed the measure late Tuesday by a narrow margin. Politicos say its passage through the Republican-controlled chamber suggests the far right Tea Party is losing its clout in the GOP.

And plenty of news coming out of Sochi this morning, a historic gold medal tie in women's Alpine skiing and a heartbreaker for US snowboard favorite Shaun White. White was gunning for his third gold in the snowboard half pipe, but gracefully leaves Sochi without a medal.
