Ill. and PA protesters decry Obama's 'war on coal'

An estimated 3,000 Americans supported by the coal industry converged on Capitol Hill Tuesday to rally against what they call the Obama administration’s “war on coal.” Coal mining advocates nationwide rallied to emphasize the job-producing importance of the industry. Illinois and Pennsylvania are the fourth and fifth largest coal producing states in the country, respectively, and accounted for a combined 100 million short tons of coal produced in 2012.
