Kate Tamba Howard is the assistant to Anders Gyllenhaal, vice president of news for McClatchy. From project and web development and design to social media to copy editing to broadcast and print reporting, Kate does a little bit of everything in this role.

Before McClatchy Kate spent some time in Bangkok, Thailand working at Associated Press Television News as a shooter, writer and editor for video elements coming out of the Bangkok bureau.

Kate completed her Master's of Science in journalism from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned a B.A. in electronic journalism and a B.A. in interpersonal and organizational communication. At Carolina she was a Division I athlete who competed in field hockey and track & field.
