A senior district judge from Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, will hold the scheduled Dec. 7 preliminary hearing for Jerry Sandusky, who faces sex abuse charges involving children.

Centre County Court had requested an out-of-county judge, and the assignment was announced by the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts.

Judge Robert E. Scott, senior judge of Westmoreland County, has no known connections with Penn State, the Second Mile charity, nor any officers or representatives of any of those entities, according to AOPC.

He has been a judge since 1964, and remains as a senior judge after retiring from active service.

The hearing will be held at the Centre County Courthouse on Dec. 7 or a date to be determined by Scott.
