Police: Couple on way to buy heroin passes out in traffic with 4-year-old in car

A Granite City, Illinois, couple took their 4-year-old daughter on a trip to buy heroin in St. Louis and ended up passing out in traffic, court documents state.

Arrest warrants have been issued for Diane Van Deusen, 31, and George D. Stevenson, 32, both of the 2500 block of Iowa Street, court documents state. On Tuesday, they were charged with felony possession of heroin and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Van Deusen also faces charges of felony endangering the welfare of a child and misdemeanor driving while intoxicated on heroin and Xanax.
