Final Wachovia bank sign coming down in Charlotte

email this story print this story jump to comments

The final Wachovia bank sign is coming down this morning - one of the final moves as Wells Fargo completes its merger with the company.

A ceremony is planned for 10 a.m. in front of the bank branch at 301 S. Tryon St. in uptown.

Wells Fargo has been gradually swapping out the blue-and-green Wachovia signs with the red-and-gold ones bearing the Wells name at bank locations across the country, including in South Carolina last month. This weekend's conversion of bank locations in North Carolina marks the end of the transition, according to a media release.
