Heat wave grips Kansas City and much of the US

Weather forecasters say that’s what it will feel like the rest of this week as an excessive heat warning remains in effect through Friday and perhaps beyond.

Temperatures will continue to soar into the 90s, with heat indexes of 100 or more. Little or no rain is expected, and an orange ozone alert has been issued for today.

Missouri and Kansas are among 17 states under some sort of heat advisory. A “heat dome” is hovering over much of the central United States and isn’t moving much, making being outside uncomfortable for more than 40 million Americans.
