Police in Kansas City, Kan., relayed some disturbing information to Wichita police last month: allegations that the mother of two preteen girls was bringing them to Wichita to have sex with a man.

The man, James L. Brown, 47, is a registered sex offender.

On Tuesday, Wichita police arrested Brown, who has been booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on suspicion of 72 counts of crimes against children, records show.

The two girls, now 12 and 13, were around 10 and 11 when the alleged assaults began, Nolte said.
