Firemen rescue high-climbing six year old from tree

Lacey, Washington, firefighters rescued a 6-year-old boy who had climbed 40 feet up a neighbor’s cherry tree Sunday evening.

The neighbor heard the boy call for help about 7:15 p.m. and spotted him sitting on a 4-inch limb near the top of the tree.

Firefighters responded to the Apollo Street home and used a ladder to reach the boy. The child was not injured and promised firefighters he wouldn’t climb the tree again, Lt. Patrick Harn said.
