More on this Story

Republican presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann ended a daylong jaunt across South Carolina in Rock Hill on Wednesday night, blasting President Barack Obama and promising to fill his shoes once the American people use their "big red pen" to strike him out.

About 1,000 people came to Winthrop University to hear the third-term Minnesota congresswoman speak, but only 450 or so made it into the ballroom where she stumped before taking questions from the audience, social networking sites and overflow rooms elsewhere on campus where hundreds watched via live video feed.

Putting the IRS tax code on a "restrictive diet," ending bailouts and cutting spending were some of the promises a seemingly indefatigable Bachmann said she'd keep as president.

But a "full-scale repeal" of Obama's health care legislation was at the top of her list.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act "fosters dependency," she said.

We have money for the very ill and those who can't help but depend on the government, she said. "What we can't deal with are people who are in a mindset of dependency. That is what has to change," she said to applause.

A promise to tell any neighbors of Israel, "You're going to have to deal with us (the United States)" if they touch Israel received a standing ovation.
