Florida's beaches rank 6th in clean beach report

Florida’s beaches in 2010 were a little less clean than in 2009, according to an annual report that ranks beaches around the nation.

The "Testing the Waters: report ranked the state sixth in beach water quality, down from its ranking of fifth the year before.

“Beaches are a summer rite of passage, but they can make you sick,” said David Beckman, director of water program at the National Resources Defense Council.
