The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.

- Baghdad

- Three people were wounded when a bomb detonated in Karradah neighborhood in downtown Baghdad around 8 a.m.

- Six people including three policemen were wounded when a bomb detonated targeting police patrol in Ghazaliyah neighborhood in west Baghdad around 10 a.m.

- Gunmen using pistols with silencers assassinated a high rank officer works for the ministry of interior affairs in Muthanna Street in west Baghdad around 10 a.m.


- Three people were killed and 22 others were wounded when two roadside bombs detonated targeting a leader of Sahwa group in in Shirqat town north of Tikrit city.
