Round-up of daily Violence in Iraq - Tuesday 19 October 2010

The daily Iraqi violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It’s posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy’s Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

- Two adhesive bombs that were stuck to Iranian pilgrims buses detonated in downtown Baghdad on Tuesday morning. 14 pilgrims were wounded.

- Two civilians were wounded when a roadside bomb detonated in Saidiyah neighborhood in south Baghdad around 2 p.m.

- A sahwa member was killed and four others were wounded when a roadside bomb detonated in adhemiyah neighborhood in northeast Baghdad around 6 p.m. Baghdad local time.

Salahuddin

- Three explosions targeted the houses of police officers in Tikrit city north of Baghdad on Tuesday morning. 11 people from one family were killed in the first explosion, two members of another family were wounded in the second explosion and only one car was damaged in the third explosion.

Najaf

-A roadside bomb hit the convoy of the U.N. special envoy to Iraq, Ad Melkert south of Najaf city killing one SWAT member and wounding four. Mrlkert was unhurt.
