Duke Energy president and CEO Jim Rogers told an audience in Washington on Wednesday that the United States and China must cooperate if the world is ever to solve its global warming crisis.
With China and the United States together consuming 42 percent of the world's energy, the countries are in position to change the global power sector as they address the growing need for electricity among their citizenry, he said.
"I believe we're smart enough and have a clear enough vision to cooperate and compete at the same time," Rogers said. And, he added, the governments could benefit from seeing private companies work together as well.
