The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

Two mortar rounds slammed into the Green Zone at 6 a.m. Monday. No casualties were reported.

A parked car bomb targeted an Iraqi army patrol in Saidiyah neighbourhood, south Baghdad, at 6.15 a.m. Monday, injuring seven army servicemen.

A roadside bomb targeted a police patrol in Amil neighbourhood, southwest Baghdad, at 6.30 a.m. Monday, injuring two civilians.

A roadside bomb targeted civilians in Saidiyah neighbourhood, south Baghdad, Monday morning, injuring one civilian. After an ambulance had arrived at the explosion site to transport the injured young man to hospital, another homemade bomb targeted the ambulance, injuring two more civilians.

Another mortar round slammed into the Green Zone, Monday. No casualties were reported.

A magnetic bomb that was stuck to a civilian car detonated in Jami’a neighbourhood, Monday, injuring the driver.

Nineveh

Armed men targeted a police checkpoint in Maydan neighbourhood, central Mosul, Monday, killing one policeman.

A roadside bomb targeted a freight train in the town of Zummar, northwest Mosul, Sunday, injuring two train operators.

A roadside bomb targeted a police patrol in Zinjilly neighbourhood, west Mosul, Sunday, killing one policeman.
