Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq - Saturday 18 September 2010

The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.


- A mortar shell slammed in Karrada neighborhood near Babylon hotel causing no injuries around 2:30 p.m.

- Two roadside bombs exploded in Khadhra neighborhood in west Baghdad on Friday night. After the first bomb exploded Iraqi army approached the site and citizens gathered and then another bomb exploded killing one Iraqi army soldier and injuring six soldiers and five civilians.


- A bomb on a bicycle exploded in a marker in Al Hawyja city west of Kirkuk killing two civilians and injuring 9 others.

- Gunmen killed a civilian in Daquq town south of Kirkuk on Friday night.
