Sarah Palin to campaign for Rand Paul in Kentucky

Lexington Herald-LeaderSeptember 13, 2010

FRANKFORT — Former Alaska Governor and national conservative leader Sarah Palin will campaign for Republican Rand Paul's bid for the U.S. Senate Thursday in Louisville.

A news release from the Paul campaign said Palin will appear as a special guest at the Rand Paul Victory Kentucky lunchtime fund-raiser at Louisville's Crowne Plaza Hotel.

The news release did not provide any details about tickets, and calls and e-mails to the campaign were not returned.

Palin was already scheduled to be in Louisville Thursday to give the keynote speech at the National Quartet Convention in Freedom Hall.

Palin endorsed Paul in last May's Republican primary election and contributed $2,000 to his campaign. At the time, Palin said she was "proud to support great grass-roots candidates like Dr. Paul."

She said they differ on some issues, but "he and I are both in agreement that it's time to shake up the status quo in Washington and stand up for commonsense ideas."
