Texas politics has me confused.
Is the governor so weak that he doesn't deserve credit for Texas' success?
Or is he so strong that he must be shorn of power, limited to two terms and prevented from appointing boards and directors?
As governor since the last century, Rick Perry has appointed nearly every regent, board member and State Board of Education chairman in Texas.
You see where that has gotten us.
Democratic gubernatorial candidate Bill White came to Fort Worth on Tuesday to say the governor has too much power.
"Rick Perry is using the mechanisms of state government as a political re-election machine" by collecting donations from his appointees, White said.
Wow.
If only my high school government teacher could hear this.
Somebody is saying the governor has too much power.
