The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

A roadside bomb targeted a police patrol in Ghazaliyah, west Baghdad, at 8 a.m. Tuesday, injuring two civilians.

A roadside bomb targeted civilians in Urdun intersection, west Baghdad, Tuesday, without casualties.

Armed men in a speeding car shot and killed Ahmed Hasen Gata', public relations official in Sadr City local council while he was returning home from work at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Their pistols were fitted with silencers.

A magnetic bomb that was stuck to the private car of Mithaq Salman, commander of Sahwa in Radhwaniyah area, west Baghdad, detonated, Tuesday afternoon, causing Salman's death.

A mortar round slammed into Saba' Qusoor neighbourhood, Karrada, central Baghdad, at around 9 p.m. Monday, injuring one civilian.

Armed men threw a home made bomb at a police patrol in Salahuddin intersection, Ameriyah neighbourhood, west Baghdad at 10 p.m. Monday, injuring two policemen and one civilian.

Diyala

A roadside bomb targeted a police patrol in the town of Baladruz, 45 km to the east of Baquba, at 2 p.m. Tuesday, seriously injuring four policemen and destroying their vehicle.

Armed men shot and killed a government employee while on his way home from work, in Khalis, 15 km to the north of Baquba, Tuesday.

Salahuddin

Armed men attacked five employees from Haditha Refinery, who were taking back the refinery worker's salaries on the main route between Tikrit and Anbar. The armed men killed all five men and took the money.

Basra

A roadside bomb targeted a U.S. military convoy in a western Basra suburb, Tuesday, injuring three civilians and causing extensive damages to one of the convoy's vehicles. No casualties have been reported by the U.S, military at time of publication.

Sulaimaniyah

Iranian artillery bombarded the villages on the shoulder of Qindeel Mountain late Monday. The bombardment continued well into the early hours of Tuesday, injuring one civilian and causing forest fires.

Nineveh

Armed men threw a home made bomb at a police checkpoint in Shifaa neighbourhood, west Mosul, Tuesday, injuring one policeman and one civilian.

One civilian was killed during an armed confrontation between Iraqi army and armed men in Dhubbat neighbourhood, east Mosul, Tuesday.

Armed men threw a home made bomb at an army patrol in Qahira neighbourhood, north Mosul, Tuesday, injuring three soldiers.
