A car bomb driven by a suicide bomber targeted an Iraqi army checkpoint near the traffic overpass between Ghazaliyah and Ameriyah, west Baghdad, at 7.30 a.m. Friday, killing two civilians and three soldiers and injuring 16 civilians and two soldiers.

Armed men in a speeding car opened fire at three civilians walking down the main thoroughfare in Adil neighbourhood, west Baghdad, Thursday evening, seriously injuring all three.

Armed men in a speeding car opened fire at an Iraqi army patrol on the main route from Baghdad proper to Taji, a northern suburb, injuring one army serviceman.


A magnetic bomb that was stuck to a civilian car detonated near a police patrol in Dujail district, to the south of Tikrit, Thursday, injuring two policemen and the driver.
