Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq - Tuesday 6 July, 2010

The daily violence report is compiled by McClatchy Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to the McClatchy Washington Baghdad Bureau.

Baghdad

A roadside bomb targeted pilgrims (walking to Kathimiyah neighbourhood to commemorate the martyrdom of imam Musa al Kathim on July 8) in Bayaa neighbourhood, southwest Baghdad, at 8 p.m. Tuesday, injuring two pilgrims.

Three mortar rounds targeted pilgrims in Shula neighbourhood at around 9 p.m. Tuesday, killing one pilgrim and injuring nine others.

A roadside bomb targeted pilgrims in Abu Disheer, Dora, south Baghdad, at 9 p.m. Tuesday, injuring three.

A roadside bomb targeted pilgrims in Fdhailiyah, northeast Baghdad, at 10 p.m. Tuesday, injuring five.

A roadside bomb targeted pilgrims in New Baghdad, east Baghdad, at 10.30 p.m. Tuesday, killing two and injuring five.

A roadside bomb targeted pilgrims in Muheet neighbourhood, Kathimiyah, northwest Baghdad, at 10.30 p.m. Tuesday, injuring four.

A roadside bomb targeted pilgrims on Muhammed al Qassim highway, near Nidaa Mosque, north Baghdad, at 11 p.m. Tuesday, injuring one.

Two mortar rounds targeted pilgrims in al Kathimy Square, Kathimiyah neighbourhood, northwest Baghdad, at around 11 p.m. Tuesday, killing three pilgrims and injuring eight others.
