The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

A magnetic bomb that was stuck to a civilian SUV detonated near a high school for girls in Khadhraa neighbourhood, west Baghdad at 7 a.m. Sunday, injuring one civilian, the driver.

A magnetic bomb that was stuck to a civilian car detonated in Haifa Street, Sunday, killing the driver who was a policeman who works as a taxi driver after work to support a large family.

A magnetic bomb that was stuck to the car of the officer in charge of passport issuance in Mansour district, Captain Hasen, detonated at 11 p.m. Saturday in Furat neighbourhood, southwest Baghdad, seriously injuring the officer and his wife.

Nineveh

Armed men shot dead one civilian on the street in Nebi Younis neighbourhood, east Mosul, early Sunday.

Armed men shot dead one civilian in Amil neighbourhood, west Mosul, Sunday.

Armed men raided the home of a policeman in Tahrir neighbourhood, central Mosul, Saturday, while he was off duty and shot him dead.

A home made bomb that was planted near the outer entrance to Nebi Younis Mosque, east Mosul, detonated, Friday, as worshipers were leaving the mosque after Friday prayers. The explosion injured two policemen and two civilians.

Armed men attacked a police checkpoint in al Iqtisadeen neighbourhood, west Mosul early Thursday, killing three police officers.

Diyala

A roadside bomb targeted Iranian pilgrims on the route to Imam Weis, 50 km to the east of Baquba at 8 p.m. Thursday, injuring three pilgrims.
