The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.

Nineveh

- Men wearing military uniforms killed Faris Jassim Al Jubori, a candidate for the Iraqiya bloc, in his house in Al Mawali village west of Mosul City at dawn. Al Jubori is the third candidate killed in Mosul from the same bloc.

Diyala

- A roadside bomb explosion targeted Iraqi army vehicle in Muqdadiya, 30 miles east of Baquba, injuring two soldiers.
