The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

A roadside bomb targeted a joint police and army checkpoint in Taji district, north Baghdad at 4 p.m. Saturday, killing two soldiers and injuring two soldiers and two policemen.

Diyala

Abdulmelik Marwan, a student in 12th grade was shot and killed by checkpoint security in Baladruz, to the northeast of Baquba, at around 11 p.m. Friday. Allegedly, Marwan, riding a motorbike, did not stop at the checkpoint in accordance with instructions, and was shot at, and killed.
