The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

A roadside bomb targeted civilians in Alawi neighbourhood, central Baghdad at 8 a.m. Thursday, injuring six.

A roadside bomb targeted civilians in Jihad neighbourhood, west Baghdad at 8.15 a.m. Thursday, injuring three.

A roadside bomb targeted civilians in Iskan neighbourhood, west Baghdad at 8.30 a.m. Thursday, injuring four.

A roadside bomb targeted civilians in Kindi Street, Harthiyah neighbourhood, west Baghdad at 9 a.m. Thursday, injuring two.

Nineveh

A roadside bomb targeted an Iraqi army patrol in Sumer neighbourhood, south Mosul, Thursday, injuring two soldiers.

A home made bomb was planted near the home of Saleh al Hadeedi, one of the notables of Hadeedi tribe, in Bakr neighbourhood, east Mosul, injuring Hadeedi's wife.

Armed men in a speeding car assassinated Cpt. Khattab Awni, an officer in the Inspector General's office of the interior ministry in Nineveh, as he was heading home from work, Wednesday.

Armed men shot and killed two security guards at the Mosul train station, central Mosul, Tuesday, using pistols fitted with silencers.
