The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.


A roadside bomb targeted an Iraqi army patrol in Bab al Muatham neighbourhood, northern Baghdad at 8.30 p.m. Saturday injuring five servicemen.

Armed men driving a red sedan kidnapped a civilian in Shaab neighbourhood, northern Baghdad, early Saturday evening.


A Katyusha rocket targeted the U.S. military base in Basra International Airport late Friday. The rocket fell short of the base and caused no casualties or damages.


Gunmen opened fire and injured Sardar Abdulqadir, political activist and nominee of the "Change" party to the Kurdistan regional parliament. The incident took place in Iskan neighbourhood, central Sulaimaniyah, late Friday.


Gunmen in a speeding car open fire and kill a civilian in his forties in al Karama industrial area in east Mosul, Saturday.
