Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq - Saturday 7 November 2009

The daily Iraqi violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It’s posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy’s Washington Bureau.


Around 6:30 p.m. a katusha rocket hit the International Zone in downtown Baghdad. No news about casualties was reported.


Gunmen using machineguns opened fire upon a policeman killing him in Al-Kornish Street in downtown Mosul city on Saturday afternoon.


On Saturday evening, a bomb detonated near an office of Sahwa council in west Baquba. No casualties were reported.
