Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq - Thursday 15 October 2009

The daily Iraqi violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It’s posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy’s Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

One civilian was killed and three people including two soldiers were wounded by a roadside bomb that targeted a patrol of the Iraqi army in Qahira neighborhood in northeast Baghdad around 8 a.m.

Kirkuk

Four policemen were wounded by a roadside bomb that targeted their patrol in downtown Kirkuk city around 9 a.m.

A Kurdish security members was killed and his wife and his two kids were wounded by an adhesive bomb that was stuck to his car in Toz Khurmatu south of Kirkuk on Wednesday night.

Nineveh

Three civilians were wounded by a booby-trapped bicycle in downtown Mosul city north of Baghdad om Thursday afternoon.

A roadside bomb targeted a police patrol in the town of Birtilla, 15 km to the east of Mosul, Thursday killing one police officer, injuring four others.

A roadside bomb targeted a police patrol in al Maash marketplace in western Mosul, Thursday, killing one policeman and injuring one policeman and three civilians.
