Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq - Thursday 8 October, 2009

The daily Iraqi violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It’s posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy’s Washington Bureau.


A roadside bomb that was planted outside a beauty salon in al Shuhadaa neighbourhood in the city of Yousifiyah, around 17 km to the south of Baghdad, targeted a wedding gathering, Thursday evening, killing at least three and injuring another 10.


A magnetic bomb stuck to a civilian car detonated in the town of Tilkeif, 15 km to the northeast of Mosul, Wednesday. The explosion killed the driver and seriously injured four of his family members.

A roadside bomb targeted an Iraqi army patrol in Zinjilli neighbourhood, central Mosul, Wednesday, injuring two civilians and one serviceman.
