Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq - Saturday 15 August 2009

This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.


Around 12 p.m. a roadside bomb detonated in Karrada neighborhood in downtown Baghdad. No casualties were reported.

Six civilians were injured when two bombs detonated in Al-qahira neighborhood in northeast Baghdad around 8 p.m.

Two civilians were wounded by an adhesive bomb that was attached to their minibus in Doura neighborhood in south Baghdad around 9 p.m.


Nine civilians were wounded when a gunman threw a grenade in Bab Al-toob area in downtown Mosul.

Gunmen killed a civilian in Al-wihda area in west Mosul on Saturday afternoon
