A booby trapped motorcycle parked in an open air market specialized in motorcycles and bicycles in Bab al Sheikh neighbourhood, central Baghdad exploded killing at least 13 young men and injuring around 45 others, Iraqi police said. The incident took place at around 9 a.m. Friday.

A booby trapped motorcycle targeted civilians in Bayaa neighbourhood, southwestern Baghdad at 7.30 p.m. Friday killing one young man and injuring three others.


An Iraqi army patrol opened fire and killed an insurgent while attempting to plant an IED in Tahrir neighbourhood, eastern Mosul Friday morning.

A roadside bomb targeted an Iraqi army patrol in Karama neighbourhood, eastern Mosul, killing one soldier and injuring two others.

Three insurgents were captured while they were booby trapping two cars in Wadi Agab neighbourhood, western Mosul, late Thursday.
