Round-up of Daily Violence in Iraq - Saturday 30 May 2009

The daily Iraq violence report is compiled by McClatchy Newspapers Special Correspondents in Baghdad from police, military and medical reports. This is not a comprehensive list of all violence in Iraq, much of which goes unreported. It's posted without editing as transmitted to McClatchy's Washington Bureau.

Baghdad

-At 9:02 a.m. a roadside bomb targeted an American patrol on the high way in Amil neighborhood in western Baghdad. No casualties reported.

Diyala

- At dawn a roadside bomb targeted an Iraqi army patrol in Sadiyah town in northeast Baquba on Saturday. Two soldiers were killed and two others were wounded.

- Insurgents killed a Sahwa member in Muqdadiyah town in northeast Baquba on Saturday morning.

Basra

- Three suspects were detained on Saturday, in an attack on Coalition forces Soldiers training with the Mufiqiyah Iraqi Police in West Basra. The suspects allegedly attacked the joint training site with a hand grenade. The attackers were immediately detained by Coalition forces and turned over to the IP. No U.S. forces or Iraqi Police were injured.
